Who Is Rick Tew?
Rick Tew has been teaching and running Mixed Martial Art programs and Ninja Training Camps for more than 20 years. Rick started officially teaching martial arts school at 17, started his first dojo at 19 and moved to Europe at 21 to develop his own system of martial arts – Rick Tew’s Martial Science. But not only that…
Rick has been the leader in this industry and other similar programs and camps you find on the Internet in his market, have simply copied and continue to copy his programs and teachings.
Rick has taught people from all walks of life to take advantage of his proven strategies for enhancing ones mind, body and spirit. In fact, these strategies were so effective, Rick wrote a book on the subject and created an entirely new system for life-enhancement called Winjitsu – the mental martial art.
Winjitsu-ACE-PNG-Cover2
Rick has run martial art schools, seminars, Ninja camps and live-in martial arts programs for the last 20 years. He has taught all over the world.
Rick’s system of martial art is fun, effective and is the ultimate foundation for improving any martial artists skill in the martial arts. It doesn’t matter what system or background you have – his program will give you the edge you need and are looking for.
One of the most dangerous things you can do is to invest in a false instructor or wannabe Ninja camp. An instructor who has money based intentions, and a few decent strategies and techniques…
Most Instructors use certificates and advertising to convince students to join their programs. They have no SOCIAL PROOF. Ask yourself this question:
Does the Instructor have photos or video of them doing impressive techniques you’d expect from a qualified multi-martial arts Instructor?
… Many Instructors have NO REAL Teaching Experience and have not been Teaching the Martial Arts for a LIVING in a way that Rick Tew has – that includes providing long-term-do-what-I-love to do adventures over and over again.
Rick Tew’s history as a martial arts instructor is an open book. His skills are available on videos at www.YouTube.com/tewrick and Web Sites like www.NinjaGym.com, photos are available showing Him training in countries all over the world. Rick’s literature is all over the internet.
… Rick Tew has real, concrete proof that He can not only teach you the skills required to improve your martial arts, but also to improve your LIFE with his help, regardless of your personal situation.
Almost every student has a story to share about how Rick has changed their life, thanks to the strategies he has packed into his camps and courses.
“Rick is totally dedicated to his students. He’s all about giving them all the opportunities he can so they can live the lifestyle that he has. What you want, When you want, Where you want, Why you want, and with Whom you want.” – Nate Paul Palm Harbor

What is the martial science?
RTMS is not just another Martial Art, Rick Tew’s Martial Science is geared towards the enhancement of Mind, Body and Spirit and it is a Life-Style. We focus on developing a strong character, self-esteem, life enhancing goals, self-confidence, self-discipline, physical conditioning and building knowledge through the martial arts experience.
Rick Tew’s NinjaGym®, Martial Arts Fitness Camp, College of Martial Science and Modern Ninjitsu is a combination of effective, useable, realistic martial arts principles that make it into its elite system. Because students are not expected to conform to an art, they can use a scientific approach to being their best. A typical martial art can be limited to its tradition, yet RTMS is focused more on the student rather than its master. It is ever changing and it is not limited to the approach of having any labels, set kata’s or “do as I do” training. The student is in charge of his/her training and Self-Powered.
Where is the martial arts camp?
Our programs are a College of Life and a Campus of the mind which is built through a variety of awesome experiences.
NinjaGym® / RTMS students may indeed train in one focused location or they may travel and train in the mountains one day and on on the beach the next. In a way, it is definitely about location – but more so: location, location, location.
The current long term martial arts fitness program is located in two locations. Adventure Haven – Asheville North Carolina and the tropical islands of Thailand in Southeast Asia.
How are classes taught?
All students are taught by either Sensei Tew, Assistant instructor or higher ranked member of the program. Students will also be trained by course instructors that specialize in a unique topics (firearms, Muay Thai, Grappling etc.).
Because this is a long-term program at a short-term price, you will need to prove your passion to train the first month by studying under previous students who are learning to be Instructors. You too will get this opportunity to teach.
Students will get training that they need to focus on and master each week while testing for new levels each month.
Assistant instructors and experienced students will lead many of the training lessons. Remember, self-power is required at all martial art and fitness camps – we do not hold your hand.
Students must expect a lot of hours training in order to level. So those that are serious about a career in the martial arts will still need to put in some of their own disciplined time mastering skills (very often on their own after class).
Where do i sleep?
The program we sell is for training only. However, we realize it can be difficult for serious students to attend a course if they have to also travel from another location or worry about getting a roof over their head. This is one of the reasons we usually offer basic housing during programs. You simply need to agree to our Rules and Regulations.
Students of our long term live-in program that desire to train and practice what they have learned after a phase, have a choice to either stay and train (at their own expense) or take a break / return home until the next training phase.
This will not be a Club Med vacation. You will be on a program designed for learning the martial arts and developing your personal attributes. You come to learn the Martial Science and or experience a unique adventure. So do not expect the same conditions and amenities that you have at home.
Flexibility is key. We are strict with the rules and regulations. So make sure that you understand these rules prior to your attendance. We want to focus on teaching and training. Memorize the following:
IT IS THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR TO ANSWER BEFORE QUESTIONED.
The above statement means – don’t wait for us to ask you to clean your hands, fix your belt or put away the mat. Just do it.
And what do i eat?
Our program fee only covers training and not food. Sometimes we offer optional Add On upgrades for a MEAL plan which includes: two basic meals* you can survive on such as oatmeal (a very healthy staple for a fitness program), sprouts, eggs, fruit, soup or rice based meals.
We suggest you also include supplements like NinjaGreens (www.NinjaGreens.com) and or other nutrients such as a multi-vitamin and whey protein to ensure you are getting everything you need.
What will i learn?
Flexibility and breathing
Physical fitness
Food and diet
Visualization and meditation
Principles of combat
Hand to hand combat
Gymnastics and stunts
Kicking and punching
Weapon and training tools
Mental achievement strategies
Ground fighting and grappling
Climbing and wilderness skills
Stealthing/Invisibility skills
Holistic awareness and meditation
To list or label the training you will be receiving is impossible if we are to keep from setting limitations on our ability. This guideline is simply a cloud that hangs over the world of Rick Tew’s Martial Science / Ninjitsu.
We have 5 Levels to our System and each level contains 18 skills or lessons to be learned. If you signed up for Level 1 Certification, that will be your focus. You can see the entire list of lessons per level by visiting the TRAINING page.
What does the program offer? A new way of life – a dream and a chance to travel. The purpose of the program is to educate and train motivated individuals via the martial arts and adventure travel. Our program is based on our concept of Mind, Body and Spirit. Rick Tew’s Training Camp / College Martial Science / Ninjitsu is more of a personal discovery that teaches students martial arts / outdoor adventure and alternative methods for learning and self enhancement. This is done by an instructor that has been living the life for more than 20 years, unlike our competitors which offer instruction from beginners usually looking to simply cash in on the Ninja Camp market. Our program and instruction simply can not be beat.
We offer programs that will enable individuals to make use of their environment in order that they may focus on personal development. The programs are designed to give the student intense focus on training that embodies the essence of Mind, Body, Spirit and Martial Science training. Students will also reserve time for keeping the program in order and taking care of personal issues. All in all, the program is flexible enough to allow personal growth or relaxation and intense enough to offer a valuable training program.
What is self-powered training? Focus at the Camp is based on self-powered training. This requires a massive amount of your own discipline and motivation. Although we are here to teach, it is up to you to wake up and get to the class. We will not hold your hand or constantly be telling you what to do. Your success in this program is up to you and only you. We provide the tools, guidance, motivation and we will be there to push you – but you need to be pushing too. What is the selection criteria? We accept applicants as long as they meet the following requirements: At least 16 years of age (with permission).
Have no health or physical handicaps that keep you from following the program. Have no obligations that keep you from following the program. You get along well with other people and don’t have a temper or bad attitude. Self-motivated, hard working and self-disciplined. Are a non smoker (yes, we are serious) and interested in eating healthy.
Have a desire to learn martial arts and live a lifestyle of adventure.
Are foreign students accepted?
Yes, we accept students from all over the world. It is important that when traveling that all foreign students simply get a tourist visa – or the regular visa they would get as if just traveling or vacationing. Since we operate programs phases under 3 months – you can manage to fit this program into your allowed visiting time of 60-90 days (with a tourist visa).
What gear do i need?
Please note that as part of the training, you will want to have your own martial arts uniform, training gear and weapons. You can purchase gear for all of our programs at www.TewShop.com You can also order other gear (such as t-shirts, hats or equipment that can aid you in your training from the above site and adjust what you need accordingly). The minimum gear you need to train is a RTMS t-shirt and black martial art pants (typical heavyweight karate drawstring gi pants are great). If you are really serious about learning weapons, then it is important that you get your own gear in order to practice with. If you want to spar, you need your own gear.
We can have these shipped to an address in the States. It is recommended to order them at least 2 months before your departure date, so that the order will arrive to you before you depart. Uniforms and t-shirts can be awaiting your arrival at your training camp if you give us at least 2 months notice prior to arrival. In addition to the above gear for training, you should also ensure that you have the right gear for travel, adventure and climbing (such as approach shoes, a harness and sleeping bag).
Can i be rejected after i arrive?
Yes, if you fail to abide by the program rules and regulations (you can read these prior to signing up) we reserve the right to cancel your program without refund. Once you sign up for the program we expect your 100% commitment. You will be rejected or removed from the program if you refuse to follow the rules (such as striking another student or getting drunk on the property). You must arrive with an empty cup and be prepared to work and train hard. This is the key element for any of Rick Tew’s Training Camps. If you are negative, then you will only find struggle. Those that last are those that are the most adaptable to change. All of our programs are a challenge and you will leave much stronger than when you arrived.
The stronger the wind the stronger the trees Rick Tew’s NinjaGym® / College Martial Science / Ninjitsu will test your patience and force you to meet face to face with your weaknesses. Learn to release and let go, focus on a positive mentality for the duration of your stay. A bad attitude can bring down the entire group and will be grounds for dismissal from the program. This includes behavior – mental or physical. You have a lot to gain from this program, so help us – help you.
What if i have little experience in the martial arts?
We accept everyone. So martial arts experience is NOT required. However, it would help if you’re an health conscious person and like the outdoors. As far as the martial arts is concerned, it is easier for us to train you if we don’t have to break old habits. If you have a great attitude and get along well with others, then this program might be for you. Some members will join to focus simply to take part in the martial arts, lose weight or have an adventure. This is okay – the idea is that you are here to have fun, yet truly motivated to grow. What does CMS, TTT and RTMS stand for?
CMS stands for Camp / College of Martial Science. It is a term we use to represent our training programs as they are either like camping or like a college depending on what program you sign up on: Camp of Martial Science :
All camp or Travel & Training Programs College of Martial Science :
All long term instructor Programs TTT
stands for the Travel & Training Tours. These are 2 week programs held around the world in places like Thailand, New Zealand, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, California and more. RTMS
stands for Rick Tew’s Martial Science and it is the system of martial arts based on the philosophies of Ninjitsu. It is a modern day ninja training course.
