Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi ( Thai. กาญจนบุรี ) - a city in the west of Thailand with great traditions in Muay Thai

The provincial capital, the city of Kanchanaburi (Kanchanaburi), located among the limestone hills, occupies a picturesque and strategically important position at the confluence of the Kwai Yai and Kwai Noi (although, in truth, Qui - it's just a name that is assigned to the river Mekhlong when it occurs through this region). The city is famous because of the role it played in the Second World War, when there was a POW camp and the base for the construction of the railway Thailand-Burma and, most importantly, the infamous bridge over the River Kwai.

In Kanchanaburi and the surrounding area there are many important landmarks during the war, and in addition, the town is attractive in itself. A large number of guest houses, standing on the banks of the river, to have to live peacefully here a few days.
