In any case we focus on teaching, practising and improving your Thai Boxing skills, based on our Technique, Endurance & Power (T.E.P.) Philosophy. We start working on your Techniques, while improving your Endurance in order to build stamina – which you definitely need to uphold 5 Rounds in the Ring. Only then, you have developed the right body composition, muscle endurance, speed, balance and agility in order to work on the right use of Power. Although we have a Weekly Training Schedule based on T.E.P. – see below – each student's Thai kickboxing training regime is tailored to suit their individual needs. All of our carefully selected Thai instructors have lifelong Thai boxing experience and they are dedicated to making both your Muay Thai training effective and your time with us at Horizon Thai Boxing Camp memorable. So, if you want to focus more on improving your Endurance in order to get fit and/or lose weight… just ask, and we deliver! The air is clean and the atmosphere welcoming at Horizon Thai Boxing Camp on the east coast of the tropical island of Koh Phangan, in Thailand's south seas. All levels and all ages are welcome. We hold two daily Muay Thai training sessions (every day except Saturdays).
Muay Thai Camp
The first begins at 8am and ends at 10am. The second, generally more intensive session runs from 4pm to 6pm. We are open year round and you can sign up for Muay Thai courses as long or as short as you wish. You may want to learn Thai Martial art for fitness, self defense, self improvement or to prepare for a Thai fight back home. In any case we focus on teaching, practicing and improving the proper Muay Thai techniques. If it is your aim we can arrange for you to compete in a local stadium bout or even help you take your competition to a higher level within Thailand.
Focus on your fitness
Many of the people we have training with us at Horizon Camp are trying thai boxing for the first time and we see plenty of female practitioners. It is not really a problem if you are not very fit; your fitness will quickly improve.
Horizon Muay Thai Boxing Camp
Each student's Thai Kickbocing training reqine is tailored to suit their individual needs. Rest assured that all of our carefully selected Muay Thai instructors are lifelong devotees of Muay Thai boxing. Or if you don't want to do anything at all Haad Tien is a great place for a soak up the sun style beach holiday.
Staying at the camp
Horizon Muay Thai Camp Accomodation
Accommodation at Horizon Thai Boxing Camp is in simple detached bungalows with balconies and superb sea views. We have a range of accommodation from singles to triples, with or without attached bathrooms. Ours is a beautiful restaurant serving quality Western and Thai food. Our menu is extensive, covering breakfast, lunches and dinners, and Thai food cooked Thai style. We have a small shop stocking basic provisions such as tissue, soap, shampoo and mosquito repellent. Laundry service is available. One night a week why not stay in for video night, and watch the great Thai boxers in action?
Wind up at the main ferry port, Thongsala, for a Thai kickboxing match at a local Muay Thai fight night in Koh Samui and Phangan where you can cheer on Horizon's fighters if they are competing. Or how about a round island boat trip. Visit more stunning beaches, go snorkelling or fishing, and visit freshwater falls at a favourite bathing spot of Thailand's kings.
At home in our natural paradise
Horizon Muay Thai Boxing camp in Koh Phangan we are built almost entirely from natural materials, is within easy walking distance of three palm-fringed beaches. In fact, you can jump directly into the sea from rocks below our restaurant. There is no road (access to our beach is by boat or by foot) so we are secluded from the, sometimes, intrusive nightlife that Thailand is so famous for. But Horizon is by no means isolated. Nearby there are other bars, restaurants and accommodations as well as a spa and yoga centre. In the nearby small town of Haad Rin (a 10-minute boat ride away) you can find all necessary amenities: banks, a hospital, telephones, internet, well-stocked pharmacy, general stores, dive shops and all the shopping and night clubs that you might wish for. Where could be better to learn the techniques and traditions of this ancient form of close-quarter combat, Muay Thai boxing, than its birthplace – THAILAND?
