List of Biceps & Triceps Stretches This page provides details on biceps & triceps stretches. The biceps are located in front of the arm and run from the shoulder to the elbow. Biceps muscles are used in some punching techniques (i.e. hook punch). More importantly, they are used in a variety of grappling techniques in order to pull an opponent in and/or turn them. In contrast, triceps muscles are located in the back of the arm and run from the shoulder to the elbow. Triceps muscles are used in punching techniques (i.e. straight punch) in order to drive the arm forward. They are also used in grappling techniques in order to push an opponent away and/or turn them. These stretches are used to warm up the biceps & triceps before martial arts training and any biceps exercises or triceps exercises. All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized. For additional martial arts stretches targeting other areas of the body, please visit the main Martial Arts Stretches page. Biceps Stretches
