How To Use Thai Pads - Martial Arts Training Tool

This page provides details on how to use Thai pads for martial arts training.

Thai pads are padded training tools used primarily as a target for a martial artist's kicks and strikes. They are worn on the forearms of one training partner and are used as targets for the other training partner (i.e. student or fighter).

Thai pads can also used to help martial artists practice how to avoid being hit by a punch or kick. Instructors can swing the Thai pad at the student's head, body, arms and legs in order to force the student to block, duck and/or weave. Moreover, students can practice without fear of being hurt given the padded nature of the Thai pad.
