How to use a Throat Strike in Self-Defense Situations

This page focuses on strikes to the throat in self-defense situations (i.e. rape prevention). The instructional videos below provide a variety of different ways throat strikes are used in self-defense.

These throat strikes are in addition to the standard Knife Hand Strike (or Karate Chop) to the side of the neck.

Many of these self-defense targets (i.e. groin or eyes) are illegal in martial arts sparring competitions. However, they are useful in self-defense situations. These attacks on vital areas should only be used in life or death situations as you can severely injure your opponent.
