Sai - Anatomy (Parts of)

This section details the different parts of the Kobudo Sai.

  • Monouchi - is the central shaft/prong of the sai, typically round or octagonal
  • Saki - is the tip / conical point of the sai
  • Yoku - are the shorter side prongs of the sai
  • Tsume - are the curved tips of the side prongs
  • Tsuka - is the handle of the sai which is typically wrapped
  • Tsukagashira - is the butt end of the handle
