Instructions for the Posterior Shoulder Stretch or Crossover Arm Stretch

This page provides details for the Posterior Shoulder Stretch (Crossover Arm Stretch). This basic stretch is useful for martial artists that utilize grappling techniques and/or punches. Instructions for Stretch

  • Put one arm out forward.
  • With your other arm, grab the arm by the triceps and pull it across your chest.
  • Hold for 30 seconds and then repeat this stretch with your other arm.
  • This stretch works on the muscles in the back of your shoulder (posterior deltoids).
