Nidan Geri- Double flying kick This kick is taught in many Wado Ryu schools, some sensei's see this as impractical, in a self defence application but is included for Karate Kumite and the like. Instructions for Technique The basic idea is to deliver two kicks in quick succession, either as two full strikes, or as a softener to open the opponent up for a finisher. It was originally practiced to attack an attacker on horse back, charging in to dismount the opponent, this application has very little use in our age, but has been adopted as an attack in our modern era.
So this can be used to bring the opponent's head down lower for the second kick to connect to the face, throat or chest area's. There is a second version of this kick which is longer, its is done in the same way, however the first kick is thrown forward, when done in this way you can close the gap with your opponent quickly and deliver a powerful kcik in the same move, not practical as self defence, as an opponent that far away is not a threat, but useful is Karate Kumite.
