Instructions for the Lying Down Hamstring Stretch - Martial Arts Stretching Technique

This page provides details for the Lying Down Hamstring Stretch or Supine Hamstring Stretch. This stretch will help to improve the flexibility needed for high kicks (i.e. axe kicks). This stretch is also known as the Reclining Big Toe Pose in Yoga.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
