Instructions for the Leopard Punch or Half Fist Punch - Martial Arts Strike

This page provides details on how to do a Leopard Punch or Half Fist. This technique is also known as a Long Fist Punch, Knuckle Edge Punch, Half-Clenched Fist Punch, Half Fist Punch, Panther Punch, etc.

While this punch is used by a number of different martial arts, it is often associated with Leopard Kung Fu. It is used to target vital points (i.e. throat) that might be too narrow for a normal fist to reach (as you are hitting the target with the middle portion of your fingers versus your entire fist).

For more punches & strikes (i.e. Eagle Claw and Hammer Fist), visit our main Punches & Strikes page.
