Kosho Shorei-Ryu Kenpo (Kosho Ryu Kenpo)

Kosho Shorei-Ryu Kenpo (Kosho Ryu Kenpo) was developed by James Mitose and the first school was opened in Hawaii in the early 1940s. This martial arts is supposed to be based on a martial arts style used by Mitose's Japanese family known as Kosho-ryū. Kosho Shorei-Ryu Kenpo is also known as Kosho Kempo, Kosho Ryu Kempo, etc.

Kosho Shorei-Ryu Kenpo is considered one of the main influences behind American Kenpo. However, be aware that there are many different Kenpo (Kempo) schools and styles because this style has fragmented over the years.
