Instructions for the Kneeling Back Rotation Stretch - Martial Arts Stretching Technique

This page provides details for the Kneeling Back Rotation Stretch. This stretch helps to stretch your lower back and obliques. This will help prepare you for any martial arts exercises that involve twisting (i.e. grappling and spinning kicks).

In this stretch, you will kneel on the ground with both hands also on the ground. Slowly rotate your shoulders & torso and raise one arm towards the sky. Try to hold stretch for at least 30 seconds. Return your arm to the ground and repeat this stretch with your other arm.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
