Kali Gunting - "Scissor" Pass And Destroy The concept of Gunting follows the concept of Defanging the Snake where the an incoming strike is deflected and then the limb is struck as quickly as possible. From there an immediate strike to the head should follow. This technique sometimes gets scrutinized for not being 100% practical in a real fight. But the example of parrying the punch and striking to the bicep isn't the "end all be all" because after striking the bicep that same arm can pass the arm over and more strikes can follow. The strike to the biceps tendon will initiate a flexion response bending the arm, for more info on the joint please see the Humeroradial Joint (Stabilizer). Also with proper footwork the technique can turn the opponent and give the user the space to move and reach for their own blade or just end the fight with additional strikes. The video nice demonstrates varying passing strikes and briefly how to maneuver around the opponent. kali-gunting-scissor-pass-and-destroy/html/59aea5a0a38cf5f1ed580813e5e9fb64669c31ba-1489029515418846410 |
