High Knees - A Warm-Up Exercise for Martial Arts Students

This page provides details for a warm-up exercise known as High Knees. In this exercise, you run forward or jog in place and bring your knees towards your chest. This warm-up exercise is used by martial arts students in order to warm up and strengthen their quads, hip flexors, hamstrings, glutes, etc.

All warm-up and plyometric exercises should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
