Written Instructions for Chito-Ryu Kata - Kihon Dosa Ichi

  • Attention stance (musubi dachi)
  • Uchi Hachi Ji Dachi
  • Start with right foot step forward, right hand high punch (jodan zuki)
  • Step forward, left hand high punch (jodan zuki)
  • Step forward, right hand high punch (jodan zuki)
  • Step forward, left hand high punch (jodan zuki) - Yell (Kiai)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step forward, right hand middle punch (chudan zuki)
  • Step forward, left hand middle punch (chudan zuki)
  • Step forward, right hand middle punch (chudan zuki)
  • Step forward, left hand middle punch (chudan zuki) - Yell (Kiai)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back; inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step forward low horse stance, right hand low punch (gedan zuki)
  • Step forward low horse stance, left hand low punch (gedan zuki)
  • Step forward low horse stance, right hand low punch (gedan zuki)
  • Step forward low horse stance, left hand low punch (gedan zuki) - Yell (Kiai)
  • Step back shiko-dachi (horse stance); inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back shiko-dachi (horse stance); inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back shiko-dachi (horse stance); inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Step back shiko-dachi (horse stance); inside-out block done slowly (soto-uke)
  • Return to attention stance (musubi dachi)
