Balance & Wooble Boards - Martial Arts Balance Training Balance and wobble boards are great tools for improving your martial arts balance skills. They will also modestly improve your core and leg strength as your body naturally tries to stabilize your instability on the wobble and balance boards. The Bosu ball is another similar piece of sports equipment that is used for martial arts balance training. Balance boards are planks resting on a cylinder and wobble boards are round disks mounted on a center "wobble" point. Wobble boards tend to be easier and safer to use than balance boards (as the balance board cylinder can roll quickly under the board and wobble boards tend to be closer to the ground). All stretches and exercises should be supervised by a trained martial arts instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized. If you have had an injury or are in pain, please see a doctor before starting any stretching or exercise program.
