Jissen no Kata Ichi - Ashihara Karate "Fighting" Kata

This page provides details for Jissen no Kata Ichi, a kata used in Ashihara Karate. This kata is focused on "fighting" techniques such as punches, elbow strikes and kicks (versus some of Ashihara's other katas which are focused on techniques such as throws). Kata allows Ashihara Karate students to practice martial arts techniques without a partner and to practice dangerous techniques without injuring a partner. Ashihara is a full contact Karate style.
